Just longing.
Checked on the boat today. The weather lately has been miserable, it’s been raining like crazy. Gone is the snow, greyness has returned. Longing for some new snow. Longing for spring. Five months on the hard to go.

Easy 45 minutes on the kayak ergo. The hands didn’t get blisters, finally! Averaged 10,8 km/h or 5,8 knots.
Klättermusen is one of my favorite outdoor brands and I´ve been using their products since the late 90’s. Klättermusen make some things that are absolutely crazy good, but they also have the other end of the scale with things that are a bit bonkers and difficult to understand. Klättermusen Draupner is one of the products that I really really like.
When my wife turned 30 over twenty years ago, I gave her a shell jacket from Klättermusen. The jacket was called Klättermusen Bifrost, the model is no longer in Klättermusen’s range, but my wife’s Bifrost jacket lives on and delivers.
Bifrost is a sturdy shell jacket with a really nice hood. It’s a jacket you feel comfortable in the winter mountains regardless of the weather. I’ve always been quietly jealous of my wife’s Bifrost.
A couple of years ago I found the Klättermusen Draupner at a reasonable price and realized that this is a modern alternative to my wife’s Bifrost. I jumped at the opportunity and bought it. These are my thoughts on the Klättermusen Draupner.
When I bought the Klättermusen Draupner, I was looking for a shell jacket for winter trips only. In three points, these were the requirements I had for the jacket:

Draupner is a waterproof 3-layer Cutan® men’s shell jacket with all the features you need for alpine mountaineering. This jacket is made to withstand the toughest abrasion and abuse, while it’s still light and well suited for vertical missions.
– Klättermusen
I have exclusively used the jacket for winter trips. For example, on ski trips in the mountains or on the winter ice in Luleå.

As a jacket for winter trips in exposed environments, I give the jacket a solid five out of five rating. As a jacket for everyday use or summer trips, well, then I would say it’s the wrong jacket and you should look elsewhere in the store.
Grisslan fishing village is located just south of Skagsudde on two islands, Grisselön and Vågön, with a small footbridge connecting them.
The fishing village is well protected from the elements and for a long time Grisslan was a living community used by fishermen and their families. Nowadays the small red houses are used as holiday homes.
The well-preserved fishing village is a popular destination. There is a guest pier for a few boats and you can also anchor against the rocks.

First session on the kayak ergo in a very long time: Blistered hands!
Light is everything. Always.
The last few sunrays of the day came running through our living room window. Quickly I went for my camera. The bouquet from my 25-years anniversary at work glowed. I managed to take a few snapshots. And as quickly as the light came, it disappeared. Left me standing there.

Yachting World had an article on the First 30 in the October issue. Now there’s an article on their website as well. Looks like a fun boat! I wonder what it would be like cruising with a planing yacht like the First 30.
The affordable planing cruiser that’s fun and fast.

Since I started the cockpit table project, work has been progressing nicely. Each and every day I’ve done some small task. So far I’m pleased with the result, it’s an old table with patina and wear so finish wont be perfect
This is what has happened:
Next step is to add two layers of clear varnish, I’m happy with the amount of warmth and color in the table as it is now.

Compare it to how it looked when I started.
